Your Black Hat
YOUR BLACK HAT I put on your black hat, the one you gave to me. Thought I'd be downtown, like we used to be. All I met was faces, of friends we thought we knew, Friends who couldn't see me without you.       They couldn't recognize me without you. I put on your black hat, I wear it every day. When I go downtown, where we used to play. All I see is faces, of almost friends we've known. Smiling like they'd rather be alone.        Without you, I'm someone they used to know. I still wear your black hat, it's like a part of me. I still wear your black hat, it's all you left for me. I put on your black hat, everywhere I go. To live our beat. To feel our rock and roll. All I see is faces, of friends we never knew. Friends who know I'm no one without you.       They'll never recognize me, without you. I still wear your black hat. I still wear your black hat. © ron wilson aka vee bdosa the doylestown poet this of course is a song lyric, hear the song on Youtube, my veebdosa youtube account or on vimeo or it has a link on my ron wilson facebook page today (march 23) Emily Van Praag sings the demo.
