To My Dearest Mama
Thank you for being the greatest mom to us. For all the patience and love that you gave. All those sleepless nights when we were kids. For sending me to school, until putting a medal on my neck. I hope I gave you pride to all those years. I know, Mama though you're not speaking. I can see the weakness from those eyes. Please forgive me when I made you cry. I've been a foolish, I made mistake. I failed to finish my studies and reach my dreams. Eventhough I fall, you still lend me your hand. Helping me to stand and save me from the ground. I remember one day, when I became a mom. You were there beside me, and hear my baby's cry. I saw the tears from your eyes, saying these words to me. "My daughter, you have paid all the things you owe from me." Now that we're both moms, you never left me. You were there on my trouble, reminding me to be strong. The one whom I caved in, a wings cover me in storm. Mama, how can I repay you for all the good things that you've done? I promise to take care of you now 'til the twilight of your time. And be a mother to my children the same thing as you did. Thank you, Mama...I'll stand strong for you and my kids. ** 1st Place Winner in Leonora Galinta's Contest: Poem For Mommy**
