The Marriage of Ruth
How she loves so deeply. Sadden from too many losses. Loss of her husband, brother-in-law, father-in-law, biological family, homeland, etc… Her dramatic point was her love for Boaz. However, Ruth was obligated to someone else. A kinsman had first priority. He was closer to Ruth then Boaz was. He has the right of the kinsman-redeemer. Boaz informed Ruth that there was someone closer than he was. He went to the gate of the City of Bethlehem. He sat there with esteem and honor. At the gate, he approached the closer kin. He said to him, “Come aside, friend, sit down here.” Ruth was not present. Mr. So-and-So, name not given, sat and declined to redeem his obligations to Ruth. Just punishment was upon him. No lack of honor was involved. Boaz became honorable. Ruth became his wife. The marriage of Ruth was done in truth. All is well in Israel. ___________________________________/ Sponsor: Isaiah Zerbst Contest Name: Ruth Entry Date: March 11, 2013 ~Please read About This Poem~
