What Am I
I came from different hands 'til you had me. From pieces you picked me and gave meaning. Designed me patiently to let others see my flair. You gave me a brand new life, you made me whole. Until somebody saw my beauty and had me owned. At first, he treated me so gently, like nobody does. Days passed, then he forgot my worth. I'm always left in a corner of his home. Even though I was hurting, I kept on serving him all day long. He wasn't contented, he used and abused. Let all people come and go without even notice. They just passed by, as if not aware that I was there. No one really cared, they left me broken and unclean. And finally, the day that I awaited.... The time came for me to be free. After all the pain he'd caused me. My final journey, time for me to take a ride. I can't help not to wave goodbye. And keep myself asking why. Why did he let me in to his life, then throw me away after all that I've done. He left me with a hanging line... asking myself now...WHAT AM I TO YOU? ** 2nd Place Winner in PD's Contest: WHAT AM I?**
