Lost
In seeking to move forward, Our world has lost life’s meaning, So many of my day’s worries, Spent over bits of paper, Or the moods and whims of others. The important parts of life, The things which are true to my inner spirit, Are pushed further and further away, Whilst the trials to fit in to the crushing expectations of my job and world, Age me. Every now and then I see a glimpse, I remember why I am here, I see the journey that is vital to my soul, But it so often drifts away, And gets lost in the monotony and stress of my daily routine. And so I ask myself- what does my life mean and why am I alive? I must answer truthfully, For then my life will finally take shape, And I will be back on track, Experiencing each day with wonder and freedom. In seeking to grow up and fit in to the world, I fear I have taken the wrong direction and lost my way, I must find my true path, Or regret it forever.
