They Praise For Her Elegance a Queen
They praise for her elegance a queen: She was very kind And loved art. Attended the theaters Where great actors acted Who were the great playwrights too. Call her era The Golden Age And title her truly The Virgin Queen. And, for her Looks That old king’s wife, Eloped with the neighbor state’s prince And for years A war was fought for her fantastic face, Thousand horses disabled Hundred towers destroyed. A woman known for her naked bath, Seduced a Hebrew King, who For her killed her husband. And say, later their sin they wedded And she bore him a great man. And another woman they overly praise… In another language was called ‘Peace’. Albeit had danced For a holy man’s head! And when I on a lonely day sit And compare, I just s’cretly smile—a proud smile!
