Yesterday
Yesterday, I walked along a young man's path All the answers, they seemed so clear My world was steeped in my dreams Troubles came, as often troubles do Seemed like nothing was going my way So strange at first, I didn't believe Far from myself the answers flew Away I walked to seek a different path Now I live a new wondrous life It is far better than anything I had hoped for, the other self looks forward, to a world beyond just me As now I see more clearly with ancient eyes Though I know youth will be served They're going to arrive at this door someday Here with the residue of the past To dance along a silvery trail Stay happy, as life's worth while Oh, celebrate your youthly glow I still dream with a young man's mind, I believe in a world of possibilities In but a few moments, this life does pass Yesterday is created every day For Roy Jergen's "Yesterday's Acrostic Contest"
