The Gentle Men
Walking amongst crowded streets, The gentlemen carries his heart, In hand. One human being, lost within, A sea of souls. Amidst humanities vast ocean, In rush hours busy, bustling world, Would it take so much away, From them just to notice him? For one precious moment, to speak, A kindness, exchange words, Expressions. He eagerly, seeks one individuals, Friendly face. From emotions tired desperation, A quiet sigh escapes. In yesteryear’s by gone times, Friendships hands extended, Outwardly, Hello's echoed amongst side cafes, And down store front shops. History's keepsake locked within, Him always but remembered. Hesitation momentary lapse, loses, His grasp, Allowing his cane to fall. Behold hopes small angel, Comes forward, Sir she speaks, “You dropped this.” A little girls act of kindness, Gives kindred's spirit a believers, Acknowledgment. “Thank you,” a new stride fills, His steps, Confidence enters where doubts, Shadow took hold. Prides renewal grows again, And blossoms Within this old gentlemen. BY: CHERYL ANNA DUNN
