Not Considering the Cost of Vanity
I haven't inherited great wealth, and the only luxury I can afford is to make believe, acting like a guru who does't tighten his belt...when will this character leave? The Greek guru, Onassis, had a yacht and a private jet... he enjoyed his grand lifestyle by traveling everywhere: a hundred dollars bill meant less than a dollar to him; I squandered quite a few of them for a foolish whim, but the only difference between me and him is that he never was short of a dime by discovering a hole in his pocket! I rented a penthouse where the rich and famous live to impress everyone and make friends...sadly the only friend left is Dave the one I confide to, but the others won't socialize with someone who was a fake, the one who built his wealth on incredible lies! Don't pretend to be who you aren't, confront reality... not everyone is born rich by turning wishes into money; don't change yourself and lose every friend who considered you extremely rich... did I ponder the cost of vanity that made me more miserable than a wretch?
