Depression Sings
I will not be constrained within the arms of depression So I push myself away from her Rise from the bed Wipe the smell of her from my limbs I do not look back lest I be turned to stone She lays on the bed with her Medusa smile Singing her siren's song "Come to me, let me pleasure you feel my softness dive into my darkness." My mind Pauses Craves I'm drawn to her whisper Longing to suckle at the breasts of her iniquity Too wrap myself in pleasuristic pain seeking solace comfort I cry to the heavens deliver me from my demon Do not allow her to devour me Help me to crave a new light I emerge renewed cleansed revitalized Seeing beyond the lesser me left in a state of thanks on bended knee Light floods The shadows flee I have escaped She didn't win I was meant to be free The other self was never me
