Just Breathe
To what do I owe this sweetest pleasure Of optimism's grand procession When days are weighed then carefully measured And trials find their hope in recession True, there are moments when my heart gives out Like worn out jeans give way at the knees Or cobblestone walkways forfeit their grout Those fears hang on my heart just to tease Then comes the sigh deflating every care Like a flower blossom seeking the sun Forgetting the chill of yesterday's night Growing strong in the warmth as it comes In the flash of a moment In the twinkling of an eye Giving in to the torment Or rejecting the lie For every storm runs out of rain The winds will find their end Trials they change as quickly as they came Such anxiety we need not expend So here I inhabit optimism Like falsehood resides in a lie Like the doubtless avoids all pessimism Just breathe... All it took was a sigh
