A Missed Poem
He didn't think it really mattered Every time he beat and battered His new wife with no regret She was weak and had to let Him get away with this abuse Running away was no use He had spies in every place Every time they saw her face He would drag her back again It didn't matter where or when Burns and bruises being hidden And bite marks where she was bitten Every minute so afraid Another scar would soon be made Shaking with a lonely quiver When he's near she would shiver From the coldness in his heart Bringing another bad shot To her fragile beaten bones Praying he'd leave her alone As this torture ends one day And she soon passes away From the final blow that hits And a light is finally lit That's a more peaceful existence No more hurting or resistance
