Daddy would come home drunk, stumbling, & angry; while throughout the day mom & I were left hungry. He'd start cursing & yelling, then eventually my mommy he'd start beating. It was a nightly ordeal without fail, I would foolishly pray for ""CHIPS"" to come & put daddy in jail. Sleepy & tired I'd go to school the next day, even too weak to join my peers for play. I thought no one ever seemed to care, to me life just seemed so unfair! Luckily, daddy never hit me, all the physical torture was for mommy. The beatings continued until I turned thirteen, because that's when I got the courage to intervene. Mom & dad are no longer together, but the tears, & emotional scars will stay within me forever.
