The Storms and Stones
What used to be, What could have been, The lies I've told, The tears I've seen, And all when I thought life was going to plan The thunder storm comes to change everything, You sat here, Probably writing the same things 25 odd years ago, You sat here, Breathed the air and thought things through Yet, Still, You went... You left, You walked, You climbed, You jumped, How long between each step I wonder, How many seconds between the lightning and thunder, How far away was the cloud? It doesn't make sense To love And leave it all behind, To leave the children alone with a mountain to climb,.. And stones in their pockets weighing them down... So, How long before the thunder rumble sound? I can still hear the echos of your own thunder cloud, I can still feel the rain, So what used to be..what could have been.. are the silver linings I'll never attain, But, and theres always a but.. I'm used to the claps of roaring bangs, And the flashes of yellow now do nothing to me.. I've adjust to the storm.. I've weathered on, And the tops of the mountains are waiting for me, That fresh clean air to breathe.. City far beneath.. I can almost see.. Can barley believe.. The stones have done nothing but brace me.
