Invited
Not sure why I doubt What your eyes tell me all about Every single time they pass over me Your message is conveyed without a sound Yet here we are quiet and motionless The silence is deafening somehow The words sit on my tongue, right behind my lips But for some reason I can't spit them out Are the signals I've been sending you Too subtle and obscure? Because you still haven't made your move Though your success is assured I'm afraid to take the risk But I can't stand to wait another moment I think the prize will be worth the consequence And I know if I do nothing I'll regret it So consider this an invitation To come over here and get closer Without any demands or expectations And no unnecessary exposure Just you and I Feeling vital and alive You can touch me if you'd like I promise you won't be denied
