My Bonnie Joy
She was born a girl and not a boy And was called beautiful Bonnie Joy; Every morning when was dressing We knew God gave us a great blessing. At mother's heart did tug and pull; A bouncy baby who had been beautiful; For months in mom's body, Bonnie was in Who always gladly would do it again. To book club meeting did open the door; Bonnie Joy's love wasn't there anymore; Cried so and my heart just sank When I saw her chair now blank. With Bonnie there, joy would abound Each and every time she was around; One night a full moon seemed to appear And knew her twilight now was near. Phone rang and wondered who it was; Heard husband clear throat like he does When bad news has appeared in the air; Always so difficult and hard to bare. Another near and close friend had died And inside and out I cried and cried That eventually through time and years Will return back again to be happy tears. Bring back, bring back my Bonnie to me; She's now in heaven where God can see Pleasant smile which means so much And memory of her can almost touch. God, treat her nice and do take care Of Bonnie whose memory is everywhere; She brought special gift to all she knew Sweet Bonnie we will never forget you.
