Battling Breast Cancer
BATTLING BREAST CANCER It all began one Summer day As a numbness in my breast At first I thought, it'll go away My bra is too tight I guess That evening in the shower While getting ready for bed I felt it was my darkest hour A time that all women dread The self exam to ease my mind Caused my heart to suddenly jump What I had feared that I might find Was there in a tiny lump I cried myself to sleep that night Sleep was fitful at its best My thoughts were filled with fright I really got no rest When morning came, I made the call The nurse was very kind She said she didn't mind at all To give the first appointment she could find The doctor was sympathetic His compassion clearly showed I really was feeling pathetic I was bearing a heavy load I was told I had the big C The fear that I had known Welled up from deep inside me I felt so all alone Through many months of testing I prayed that he would find That the mass was not malignant Lord, please let it be benign The answer to my prayer came true The lump was finally gone I pray this never happens to you Such fear I've never known The Great Physician heard my prayer He can do the same for you Cast on Him your every care And He will see you through Curtis Moorman 21 October 2013 Dedicated to my friend, Paula H.
