Christmas Choir
“A meeting of the choir tonight,” the message simply said, Angelic hosts had heard the news, and some the message read. “I wonder what this meeting means?” one angel in the choir Said to another one nearby who had the same desire. They knew they flew around the throne to praise God seated there, What could this meeting be about? It caused them now to care. And so they gathered in the street to hear the news that night Just what their new song was to be as they met on that site. As Michael stood there right beside bright Gabriel on the street He pointed down at earth below where people went to meet. “There! There it is! The place where we will sing A message new to shepherds on the hillside we will bring. The words are much like ones we know, we sing them here above, But this will be God’s message now of His eternal love. ‘Glory to God in heaven above; peace on earth and goodwill’ The message that we’ll now proclaim to shepherds on that hill. ‘For unto you is born this day in Bethlehem so near A Savior who is Christ the Lord is born; oh you don’t need to fear.’” And so the Christmas choir that night sang out the song with glee, And it’s a song to you today, and it’s a song to me. I hope you’ve heard it and believed its message true and clear: Christ came to save us from our sins—it’s one we need to hear. That Christmas choir waits now above to sing out once again When one repents and trusts the Lord to save him from his sin. Oh come now to trust in the Lord and join the happy throng Who’ll sing in heaven’s happy home when you to Chist belong.
