Rick Heart's Warmth
Through the darkest of nights with cold ice Yet remembering in my heart with warm love A time in the Midwest an Irish French family of Seven The fishing , boating and woods sent by Heaven One night stands out that warms my Heart a frozen state It was Winter having a Basketball Game to cheer at ..very late asking others too many times before for a ride ~ here comes my pride ~ calling many times only receiving a machine standing by the only payphone , out of change It's now 3am calling collect , freezing my bones , the Scene I was giving up thinking.. shelter where to find ? snow falling hard, last call , my oldest brother answers Never have I forgotten that frost bitten night ~ through the frozen snow I see his headlights ~ Rick driving his " Mach 1 " Proud , Foghat playing loud He my Hero like an Angel takes flight , certain he saved my life ~ It was God whom sent him out in the cold freezing night ~ ( This is a poem entered in "Hearts Warmth " contest , also a true story of love & dedication to my oldest Brother ) I always proud .
