He Loved Them So Much
For Putin so loved America That he gave up his only Syria That the weapons of mass destruction May give way to those of lesser destruction And that he may for once if not for always Be featured favorably on New York Times And other influential American newspapers In the hope that one day soon or not so soon When he defects to the West he may be received As a hero, not only in the United States of America But all around the world excepting only Russia Which must then pretend to condemn him As a sellout no doubt but well knowing That they had sent him to the West To head the KGB in Washington Which though dead to idiots Is very much alive to those Like me who have always Doubted that Russia Would cede much Ground in the Sly World of Espionage!
