Once Were Young
So many things have changed since we were young, Like broken hearts and old songs never sung; And time after time the days were begun By heading into nowhere on the run. Someone soon, through the raging storms, will bring Tomorrow's promise carried on the wing. Will be the thoughts once spoken by the King That life itself means more than anything. Childhoods are retold by the painted mime, While future's kept in silent words of rhyme. Of everything that's gathered in your time, Love is the greatest gift you'll leave behind. Moonlight, at last, melts in the coming blue And rests amongst the memories held true. Search out for the faces that you once knew; Those gone before now waiting there for you. So many things have changed since we were young, Thrugh books unread and journeys not begun. Can sense your presence in the rising sun; You’re waiting there for one who’s yet to come.
