Cornered
I am cornered by the solemn barrier of the evening somewhere, somebody is adorned with happiness... Silenced by fatigue console me birthing clouds roll into my deepest dreams a distant thunder different from death... A woman comes and goes coming to touch the waiting years of a man... I recall her long black Hispanic hair as I count the fingers of the setting sun my eyes choke for the moon of her lips I resemble the shadow of a body a shadow found facing the west seeking without finding a path... Laugh loudly shadow maybe for an instant she really loved you forgetting her does exist even though it is like walking over hot coals... I will drive down to the grocery store where the meat of my memories hang in strips in the cooler... Then go back home and remember the blind wind once whispered by her lips...
