A Friend and Her Red Wine
She never asked for silks or gold. She never asked for moon or sky. And i never asked why. Her choice was red wine. In place of love, she drank and swallowed her red wine... And asked for time to let love die. And now there's time and time, And time. And all the red wine And all the tear's And the question why, And faceless lips, And passing arm's, And all the wasted day's and night's, And all the empty year's. With no love left, And no life to live, To still all her cries and stop all mine. I'm left with night's that have a thousand why's. Because she loved her red, red, red wine. All she ever wanted was her red wine, So she drank herself into her early grave of death, My dear true friend of mine. WHY? Why the red wine?
