Daily Drive
I drive in my car, and here I share I speak and I wait for your reply The seat, at my side, sits cold and bare And I carry on as scenes go by I ask how to fix the fault you see No words, that I hear, of what to do I Ask, "When will you be here with me?" but first "When will I return to you?" The noise from the hood, I hear each part I rant, by myself, or just complain But this will not please my wanting heart Alone while I take this busy lane I speak, least I think, the words you'd say Midway on this road of my commute Yet still my words fail another day As both radio and you, on mute I ask how to fix the fault you see No words, that I hear, of what to do I Ask, "When will you be here with me?" but first "When will I return to you?" It's not simply done to face a wait where hours stretch to days and work lacks use Prolonged worthlessness, my daily plate So you, not with me, is near abuse I hope that you're here when I traverse though not sitting there so I can tell So then, when I speak words I rehearse you know I'm a man deserving hell I ask how to fix the fault you see No words, that I hear, of what to do I Ask, "When will you be here with me?" but first "When will I return to you?" In park, engine off, I'm here again my life passes by, with nothing new I say, "Be with me, I don't care when." but first "Always draw me home to you."
