A Doggy Prayer
My master seems to get what he prays for So I think I will give it a go It is, I know a long shot But hey! You never know So Lord, how about a massive bone With some meat left on it please And I would be eternally grateful If you get rid of these pesky fleas A comfy brand new basket In which to lay my weary head No, forget I ever asked that I’ll have two rather than one bone instead Make the weather warm and bright Whenever I go for a pee Scrub that, for I have a fur coat Not two bones my lord, make it three And I find keeping my footing quite difficult Since my owners polished the floor So to compensate for my troubles Perhaps you could make it four I am a contented doggy To keep my owners happy, I strive So as some kind of reward How about making it five Lord, I try to be a good doggy I admit I do fail now and then But five big bones, not much to ask for I wait with anticipation, Amen
