Can Anyone Tell Me Why
I was born September 22, 1983. Before that day, only a few people knew my IDIENTITY. In the hospital, by some privileges doctors, did they have the opportunity to hold ME! I was born into a REALITY, waiting to fulfill my RESPONSISBILLITIES. To do my part and contribute, or bring down this dying SOCIETY. As I started to MATURE, I began researching a CURE. To help better this life as it has been bestowed upon me to ENDURE. To help an unpredictable life, seem almost SURE. Little did I KNOW! That everyone would not live to GROW! But death SHOWS, Them that bright LIGHT! I started trying to figure OUT. Did life, I mean death, have an alternative ROUTE? Or is their anyway to avoid this VOID? But as death started to INCREASE, answers started to DECREASE. My eyes started more to WEEP. My ears started constantly hearing sirens of ambulance and POLICE. My people are starting to die younger in these STREETS. I begin sweating and feeling faster HEARTBEATS. I begin to live life, like I had nothing to LOOSE. Making decisions, choices, I’ve promised never to CHOOSE. Until I begin to see more familiar faces on the NEWS! Because we all know Death EXISTS. But it doesn’t directly affect YOU, Until you know who actually filled those SHOES! Then and only then, do you start being careful on the things you DO. This poem is more of a message to my PEERS. I’ve shed too many TEARS, For the young, that has died over the YEARS! How many more deaths angels must appear in your FACE? Until you realize that death has no age, and does actually exist in this PLACE!
