Noah's Ark
Noah had a command from God to load animals on his ark. He was to take pair of each kind, ere he and loved ones could embark. “I don’t know if I can do that. Wife will berate me for the smell.” God firmly said, “Get the job done before you ring departure bell.” So Noah did his very best to carry out God’s master plan. He and his sons went out to search for pairs of all beasts in the land. The animals came docilely, it was as if somehow they knew their lives depended on the ride and they were very lucky too. His son who was the beast counter, had carefully counted them once, then gave a cry of great alarm, “I haven’t counted elephants.” That tremendous pair was missing and Noah knew they must be found before the promised rains had come and there would be no more dry ground. They found them in a lush meadow packing up mounds of fresh green hay. He said, “There’s no room for luggage and we are pulling out today.” The bull elephant roared loudly, “You must get a move on, Woman. I told you not to pack so much. You’ve offended God and human.” She came but quite unwillingly. She had been putting on some weight. She feared that she would sink the boat. All would meet a watery fate. The men climbed upon the broad backs. as the elephants at last behaved. That’s how elephants came to be the last one's to be saved. 5/23/13
