A Girl and Her Dish
In an old house where no one dares to go There sits a small dish That gives off a small glow A girl with no family 'Cept for an uncle and aunt Ventures to this house To get away from their rant She climbs the stairs Holding a bow and she finds the small dish Where the room seems to glow It's old and it's cracked It could be sold for cents But to this girl, it's value, Has endless expense 'Fore this was her dish When she was young She lived here its true Her mom cooked and her dad sung... This once was a happy home Before the car crash It tore their family apart With an unsettling smash And just like that The parents were gone With only their child alive In the dim light of dawn She now ties the bow Around the small dish Puts it back on the table And makes a small wish Her wish came true And she was glad for that wish But when it was hard She thought of the dish In an old house Where no one dares to go There sits a small dish Tied in a soft satin bow Its old and its cracked Its cracked It could be sold for cents But to this girl, its value, Has endless expense
