Stargazer
Stargazer One night you walked home past the River Dee, you stride till you reach the only bench facing the tide, overlooking your ex's house on the other side of LLangollen, steps away, you can hear lovers giggle, exchanging sweet nothings, like an empty seat of the bus the other day, and from afar, crisp sound of dried leaves stepped over, you then remembered your mother retracing the image of the Virgin on her old satin cloth, so you inched your way closer to the water, sat on the stone beside the causeway, away from the screeches, giggles and recollections, stared at the moon on the water, the water reflected in your eyes, teary, then your eyes as steady as they were, all they can do is to glance at the house, again and again, as blank thoughts, empty, black as the depth, perhaps, to distinguish that old familiar warmth, or by chance, loneliness.
