Muse, Incandescent
She waved her veils as the night flew by, A seductive dance woven above clouds so high. Her northern flare spun bright to the south, Shrouding Orion with the glow in herself. I watched in wonder at this arctic dream, A man at the mercy of her ghostly scheme. Incandescent caresses tempted the hunter’s thigh, Her silky streams flowing where I fly. But the Muse’s touch could not Orion move, He never shifted his gaze nor bid her to sooth. I wished it was me floating in that universe, To tease and pull me with her glowing curse. Ten thousand times each generation views, The fantasies radiated by her rainbow hues. But can anyone really tell those starstruck why, We’re stolen by her beauty as it lights up the sky? Orion alone, stood and spiked the moon, To catch Venus’ charms he’d be with her soon. Why would he move into her dark embrace? The Muse offered so much more heavenly a place.
