A True Friend
Every one should have one, a best friend such as mine. She is on call when I need her as well as when all’s fine. Of course I really try to be so good a friend as she, but I wonder in my secret soul if that I can ever be. I can tell her my deepest secrets and know she will not tell. If I tire when we’re out walking, She’ll slow and wait a spell. She is glad when I win accolades, truly sorry when I lose. She doesn’t talk of me to others except to share good news. She’ll quickly come to my defense if my good name is slurred and states that no one should believe the silly lie they’ve heard. Friendships must be nourished is a truth she surely lives and in misunderstandings she’s the first one who forgives. A true friend can be rarer than the most elusive gem and my friend is of all friends at very least ... crème de la crème. 4/20/13
