A Tree
A Tree God in his all powerful way, made everything, He made the stars, the trees and the birds on the wing. Man tries to imitate Him, with his immense capacity, But we all know ‘only God can make a tree’. A tree in winter appears naked and bare, Alone, appearing destitute, just standing there. Expressing a metaphoric, lifeless silhouette in the sky, A yellow leaf falls to the earth, saying a final goodbye. Spring has come, the silhouette is gone, The tree has life, it doesn’t seem withdrawn. The leaves make the tree appear to have flare, The bluebirds are building a nest in her hair. The forest, once darkened by winter, Now has returned with its entire splendor. The trees are standing tall and straight, They are not bent from the icy winter weight. The beauty of spring has filled the air, The trees are swaying softly, without a care. We are witnessing a glorious thing, Today, God has brought us the first day of spring. ©2010 Lynn B. Glover
