As I See Him
He has the chiseled features of a handsome Nordic God, With perfectly placed brown eyes beneath a noble brow. A skilled sculptor planed those cheekbones up so very high And decided a deep dimple to his chin to then endow. His arms are strong but gentle and make me feel so safe. I want to be held in them as long as I shall live. He has a sunny nature and he’d rather love than fight. Before I’d give him up, I’d rather have my heart pierced with a shiv. For twenty years he’s filled my life with unadulterated joy, And is a loving father to his daughters and his son.…….. And now this present is the past, it has been fifty years, Since God sent angels for him and I felt my life was done. I have his features firmly planted in my heart and mind. I see them when I’m sleeping and every minute I’m awake. As I’m aging he grows younger and more handsome every day, But I’m hoping in God’s Heaven that will not a problem make.
