As I thought hard for a little while, To my face came, a big ‘ole smile. Reflecting back on all I’ve done Through all the hardships and all I’ve won. I came to realize, I’ve got it good. Why I chose to complain, I’ve never understood. I have a roof over my head and food on the table, I am in good health with a body that’s able. I have two parents that love me so, I know my mom still cries every time I go. I’ve got clothes that cover my back, Never have I steered far from the right track. On my shoulders lies a good head, Not making bad choices, the good instead. Friends have come and they have went Those who’ve stayed don’t know what they’ve meant. I’ve become a stronger person this past year. It’s been a while since I’ve seen this clear. I now know what’s important in my life I’ve eliminated the negativity and the strife. Living for me is what I’ve begun to do, Me and my past have broken up, we’re through.
