For Savione
I knew you, not so long ago When just a little boy Always there for your baby sister Who followed you everywhere I felt then, you carried a burden To my regre I could not reach you At ten years old, I didn’t get you to "speak" it! I should have tried a little bit harder I will always remember you, Savione The warm smile you hid; you seldom showed Lived just behind those sad, brown eyes You had moved far away from Cali with Mom And your Dad, I’m sure you missed Whatever made you sad, I’d never know 'Cause soon, we also moved away We heard how you’d grown into this fine young man Still taking care of your sister; Still with those sad brown eyes So glad you made many friends along the way... Losing touch for those few years, haunts me I’ll never know why you took your life… Maybe I should have kept in touch with Mom Should have mentioned, how you looked so sad I’ll never know why you took your life…. At twenty three, what darkness took you to the edge? Was there no one to whom you could turn? Did I miss a chance to share the burden with you? So sad is the day you went away I’ll never know why you took your life…. ~*~ For Savione...sleep in peace, little one. +
