The Worst Must Come First
The worst always comes first, we will always kiss dogs and frogs and keep kissing till one becomes a prince. The fairy tale always starts with a curse, that takes so long before it's a wish. We will stand on our tip toes just to find we are looking in on a war. We'll find ourselves covered in mud, blood, and someone else's skin. The worst will always come first. We can't have our smiles with out our tears, can't have our strengths with out our fears. We would never have true love with out the mistake that made us realize we can love. We'll live in the ghetto to realize life is worth holding on to. And we'll drive the old cars to realize that it doesn't really matter. The worst will always be the first... With out my first heartache I would never be able to love myself and with out my first tear I would never know I could smile With out my first nightmare I could never appreciate the dreams and with out my first lonely night I would never have known who I am. The worst has always been my first, and that first won't be my last, to make me realize that just because it is the worst, doesn't mean it's the last chance.
