The Bowl Weevil
Once upon a time there lived a bowl weevil, A cute little joker, I’m sure He was as ornery as the day is long, For his meanness there was no cure. This little bowl weevil was two inches long But had ten feet of mischief to spare. When this bowl weevil got a hold of a crop The poor farmers didn’t have a prayer. He wasn’t big enough to drive the tractor, So he flattened the tires instead. Disconnected the battery, pulled the fuel lines off Until with anger the farmers face glowed red. When the crops turned white, if he hadn’t before, He would go through all the cotton with speed. The farmer was mad, and his wife was sad They couldn’t figure who was doing this deed. So if you have a cotton crop near you, Keep your eye on this little pain He’ll destroy your cotton, and whatever else He’ll even destroy your grain.
