Delilah's Dictionary Contest
Husband brings home this Abomination of a car My first instinct is to scorn him But, I am trying to be sensitive to his affection for classic cars His passion is to get them restored and running My yearning, is to call a tow truck and have it hauled away He struggles with what to do with his classic In an attempt to keep peace, and his car, He tells me how much he cherishes his classic 1965 Mustang But, he says, our relationship is also important to him He wants to keep the flames of passion burning for both I explained I don't have the same taste in cars as he does In a vain attempt to be tender towards my feelings He says, when he is finished with it, it will touch my inner soul I tell him it will take a lot of work to make that bloom into a classic anything He says, yes, but the engine is great. He tries to start it, Smoke billows out of the tail pipe. He puts his head down, Pouts, and says, "great, bamboozled again".
