The Things We Do
beat ourselves into submission, just to prove there’s further that we can progress, lie to ourselves right back in the mirror, just to show there’s someone that we trust less, dare ourselves to jump off bridges, off buildings, off cliffs, as high as we can climb, just to convince our own doubting conscience that there was never a reason to try--- up the hill to push the rock then let it come crushing down, then throwing fists into the hardness, just to **** all of our knuckles up--- stab our own backs with knives, just to keep us from ever feeling safe, slice every vain that pumps blood in our bodies, making sure no one gets to us first to rape & before obliteration gets the best of all, theses are the things we do to keep awake before our fall.
