In Times Unseen
Love comes in stages; life comes in seasons and, in so many ways, I search for the reasons why clearer minds seem not to see the times before -- the "used to be". the ages past -- the times unseen -- when I was King, and you -- my Queen -- while on a balcony high above, we heard our subjects shouting love. Life was as perfect as it could be, for I loved you and you loved me. Yes, we were there, of this I'm sure, and, our love was full, complete, and pure. Though I cannot see just how we met, blue silk and lace and a minuet were part of a moment, in times before, when you captured my heart and opened a door to a life we lived in total bliss -- where my nights were warmed by a royal kiss. But, our life before, in history, must hide, while, in this life, we must abide -- where our love must, once more, prove its worth to guarantee its own rebirth. Then, once again, when ages pass, sweet loving wine will fill my glass. So, when I'm called, in times yet unseen, to be a King -- "Will you be my Queen?"
