The Love of Christ
Sweat drops of blood falling to the ground Praying in agony, was the son to the father He knew his time was drawing near Please! Let this cup pass from me, oh Lord! In obedience, he went to the cross willingly Enduring the rejection, mocking and the shame He demonstrates His love for all the world to see Taking our sin, as they mocked his holy name Being nailed to that old cross of wood Every breath was breathed in agony A spear being thrust into his body Blood and water pouring down his side .. Inside an empty tomb his body was placed His followers all mourning, was this the end of the story? Two days later he arose again.. Death was swallowed up in victory!! Had it not been for love, there would be no history! Had it not been for grace, where would we be? Had it not been for obedience, there would be no second chance And one day, we will see the savior who died for us-- face to face.. Oh yes! It was for us! The perfect lamb was crucified! On a rugged cross, he bled and died! Taking all our sins upon himself, he cries "it is finished" death, was swallowed up in victory!!!
