Angel's View
Is it really any wonder the love a stranger might receive Though he be lost in the valley and there be times he don't believe? Can he wait for coming angels to deliver a last reprieve, Or must he travel evermore through the dreams that the sinners weave? Does the dyeing man wrest a soul from one that follows close behind, Or does he lay his trust with those whom have no promises aligned? The shelters of reality have moved away from ties that bind, They’ve opened up the yesterdays and all the cuts that seemed unkind. Come the settling of the ev’ning, when distant church bells have been rung, Breezes carry the hollow words held by the songs that once were sung. Some memories still call the tune to which the younger clans have clung, While futures ride on winds of change far from where the lost souls were hung. Now count the days until the tides can move love through a change of hue, Recall the face of one now gone and all it was he never knew. Maybe the voices offer up more than predictions made for you While strangers move quick from the night, once more into the angel’s view.
