The Chosen Paths
What to believe in and what is the way – do any of us truly know, can anybody really say; does the truth to anyone fate ever show? Reality so ephemeral, our worlds so frail – what is immutable, what lasts, what is forever, what still remains when it's time to tell our tale? What can neither heaven nor hell, nor time's sword sever? We all want this mark, a legacy we seek, a way for us to say, 'here is where I stood.' Through our deeds after we're done, we all wish to speak, a monument to our lives, showing we did what we could. The paths that we each choose to lead us to immortality of the soul reveal who we are, our being, and thus, our small part in this vast, chaotic whole. We all make these choices, we all decide on what shall be our trail to follow, what shall be our way; it will remain as such, ever and anon – the responsibility to make the judgments that we may.
