2-45 In the Morning
2-45 in the morning, Wide awake and needing sleep. Waiting on the concourse, For a flight to anywhere. 2-45 in the morning, My life in an old backpack. No one here to say goodbye, Ain't never coming back. 2-45 in the morning, Got a ride out to Brazil. Don't leave 'til dawns first light, Got a few hours to kill. 2-45 in the morning, Din't mean to hit that guy. He didn't say a word to me, Just looked me in the eye. 2-45 in the morning, Got to cool my temper down. Trouble found me out again, I think it's my middle name. 2-45 in the morning, No time to wait for the plane. If the law find me in here, It's back to prison again. 2-45 in the morning, The streets are dark and cold. I'm forty years old tomorrow, But I'm feeling really old. 2-45 in the morning, Those guys look mean up ahead, They look like they've found trouble, When you read this I may be dead. © Dave Timperley 2012
