My Quiet Place: Star-Gazing
It surprised me to hear that some ‘stars’ in the sky are planets It made me wonder if others are watching our planet Our planet must be like a star to some Scientists say this planet and that planet can’t possibly have life Who knows for sure if they are right or wrong? Someone is star gazing – he sees one star and knows it’s a planet The planet interests him/captures his imagination He wonders if there may be life there and what the beings could be like They say on his world that the planet – it’s Earth – can’t have life He shrugs and looks at Mars and wonders if there’s life there, instead I rose and looked towards the sky - Not long till light of day; The planet seemed to be a star, So many miles away. I guessed about the life forms there - Or was the planet dead? They say there can’t be life on Earth! I looked at Mars instead… For Sara’s My Quiet Place contest
