Seashells
Seashells The sun came out this morning And shine the whole day thru And the ships are out sailing Under the sky so blue And the trade winds blows Across the Caribbean ocean Bringing so many seashells Washing up on the sand A lonely young man Sits Under a coconut tree Drinking a bottle of water His only friend is the sea He found his heaven But still he’s living in hell He saw her right here on the beach Picking up a seashell She came for her seventeen birthday And he just turns twenty one They got to talk for while Then back to Wales she was gone Sometimes Life can play tricks When you don’t want to be entertain And if you don’t want to laugh Then it leaves you a lot of pain He didn’t get her number But he got her name They didn’t start a fire But they can feel the flame There’s a girl in Wales Collecting seashells on the shore She’s thinking of someone She met in Trinidad before Sea gulls fly over head Picking fish from the water She wonders if he can or still remember her She can’t wait for summer When the school are close She already tells her parents Back to Trinidad she wants to goes To feel the breeze from the ocean And seashells every where And under a coconut tree Hope To see him standing there She is so special And he’s just an island guy It’s like throwing a stone And hoping it reaches the sky Maybe tomorrow He will accept his pain And never come back to the beach To see another seashell again
