For the Forgotten and the Lost
Have you met pain face on? Have you suffered all alone? Have you cried yourself to sleep? Have you done this on your own? Abuse has many faces, Not all of them are clear. A beating doesn't always show, Sometimes inside the fear may grow. Being unloved is hard to bear, How do you ask someone to care? I've seen kids with broken feet, Then they are sent begging in the street. They even learn to hurt themselves, But only just enough, For a hospital bed at Christmas, Just so they can be loved. That child crying on the pathway, Curtains closed on a sunny day, Are these the signs to look for That satan is having his way? Satan hates the light of day, When witnesses can see. Tell those kids that Jesus loves them, Then squash satan like a flea. © Dave Timperley 2012
