Smile
Someone sent me a song that made me smile, The images of beauty I can see for miles. The clouds parted as the sun started to shine. I felt in this heart that all this joy was mine. Sometimes it takes someone to care, To shine a light on the path from nowhere. Sometimes in life you get exactly what you need. Becoming the food for your soul to feed. I feel the need to say thank you, Your smile provided light to shine through. I feel new comfort and a sense of peace, The darkness inside, it seems to release. I feel like a feather I can float through today. It’s because of the smile that has come my way. I find all the words and the need to say, I hope for this peace, to simply stay. I go out without that chip on my shoulder, Though the lines on my face appear to grow bolder. Though this smile I think that I learned, The world still spins but the tables have turned.
