Sun-Blind
Splitting atoms in its heart The same sun kills the things It nourishes with light. I have seen clouds stff as ice When the leaves are dew dry So skin sags upon sallow bone, Shall the dead moon alone suffice? The flowers fall endlessly On graves, and from that throne Of ignorance we see not, how again Like the incessant traffic of the waves, The rock becomes a grain of sand. And absolute and meaningless In its little bauble consumes the whole Eternity is trapped in time, And things forever falls apart While by death we measure time. I want to suck the breast Of another life, but not this sun; I do not trust moons that strip In public places to groping eyes; And being use to earth more than skies I want to know here the graces Of why this life, and why our coming It can not matter much else If we are not going, or ever leaving; The sun leaks The same milk no more in the end.
