Incineration of Love God Madan (Cupid) 10 Originally written in Hindi by my late father Dr. Amar Nath Kapoor 1899 to 1994. The work was written in Hindi somewhere around 1965-70. Editing and English version by Ravindra K Kapoor. Hindi name ‘Madan Dahan’ Why not I should destroy his meditation, Brute and cruel as it is, Why not affection of delusion, Make him demoralized by its charms. Why not my wife Rati* help, Creating desire for enjoyment, Making Shiva* mad with passion, And defeated for ever. Then the rudeness of meditation, Would not be able to destroy, The beauty of Earth and living, Nourished by the nectar of love. Ravindra Kanpur India 1st May 2012. To continue……. Rati is the female counterpart, the chief consort and the assistant of Kama (Kamadeva), the god of love. A constant companion of Kama, she is often depicted with him in legend and temple sculpture. She also enjoys worship along with Kama. Rati is often associated with the arousal and delight of sexual activity, and many sex techniques and positions derive their Sanskrit names from hers.Courtesy Courtesy -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rati
